Supercar innovation began in the 1950’s – the AC Cobra 427 was first manufactured in 1965.
The Cobra 427 achieved 0-100mph in 10 seconds – an accerelation record that wasn’t broken for 20 years.
The engine is a 427 cubic inches (7 litre) Ford V8 – hence the model variant name.
Whilst the Cobra 427 was a mega supercar it flopped commercially when Caroll Shelby stopped importing the AC Motors model to the USA in 1967.
The AC Cobra had a fuel economy of 10 miles per gallon.
