Every motoring journalist will tell you what a car handles like when they review one and then criticise it because it’s not sporty or if it is sporty, that the suspension is too hard.
Who really cares? We don’t think anyone because if we did we’d all buy a VW Golf GTI or Ford Focus ST. And those with money would buy a Ferrari 458.
People buy the cars they;
a) can afford or
b) that someone tells them they should buy or
c) because it’s blue or red or
d) because the lovely man (or woman) told us it suits us or
e) they are in a rush and it’ll do
And for the record the first car I bought was a blue 1988 Nissan Micra car-van with 126,000 miles on it and I bought it because my choices were that or a beige Fiat Uno van…… I rest my case
